An inclusive learning structure provides a welcoming and fair learning space for all learners, regardless of their background, abilities, or learning strategies. The focus is to embrace equity, as opposed to equality. Students are given an equal opportunity to succeed instead of being supplied with the same resources to succeed. This is achievable by customizing learning materials and strategies to create a learning environment that is appropriate for each student. It is essential to recognize that a classroom often contains a diverse group of individuals who may learn in different ways. Students can also have disabilities or other restrictions that may inhibit them from completing tasks to their fullest ability; therefore, an inclusive learning environment would provide the appropriate help to create equal opportunity among the students.
My group’s interactive learning resource consists of a program created to educate high school students about the importance of mental and physical health. High school students, in particular, are diverse in their backgrounds, learning strategies, and abilities. It is essential to develop an inclusive learning environment that creates an equal opportunity for each student to succeed in our program. Physical activity is a large portion of our module, and certain constraints, such as the student’s ability to complete tasks, may restrict students from succeeding in our program. For this reason, students will not be assessed on their ability to perform the exercise, but rather, their consistency and efficiency of their workout plan. Other assessments will also consider the abilities or limitations of the students in the class. Instead of conducting tests, students will engage in classroom discussions and will be graded on their participation and understanding of the topics. The appropriate resources will be available for students who cannot attend the class or any other specific cases. Ultimately, the structure of our interactive learning resource is inclusive, but additional steps will be taken to further incorporate an inclusive environment for specific situations.

Hi Aiden! I really like your idea of not assessing students “on their ability to perform the exercise, but rather, their consistency and efficiency of their workout plan.” It could motivate them to keep going and as a result, their ability to perform may improve too. I also wonder what particular steps you plan to take as per CAST.
